SYMPTOMS
  • Weakness, fatigue and a general feeling of malaise; you may be mildly anemic.
  • Lips look bluish
  • Skin looks pasty or yellow
  • Gums, nail beds, eyelid linings or palm creases look pale
  • In addition to feeling weak and tired, you are frequently out of breath, faint or dizzy
  • A burning tongue may indicate vitamin B12 anemia.
  • Pernicious anemia may be accompanied by an unusually slick tongue and you may experience movement or balance problems, tingling in the extremities, confusion, depression or memory loss
